Tuesday Tech: Blogging

Blog is short for web log. A Blog is a therefore, a record on the internet. A record of thoughts, pictures, diary entries. They are generally personal musings. I assume because you are reading my blog that you have some familiarity, of course!

Did you know I have a second blog: Wild about Travel, which is more of my hobby blog?

I have three questions:

1. Are you thinking of blogging. What are you thinking of blogging about?

2. Who else is currently publishing a blog about the not for profit sector, volunteerism ect ? I would love your inputs as to the range of blogs.  Susan Ellis has an excellent list at EnergizeInc

3. Those who are writing blogs, what platform do you use?  If you are wanting to blog There are a tonne of blogging platforms available to use in publishing a blog. See How To: Choose The Right Platform For Your Business Blog. I personally use Blogger for this blog and WordPress on my Wild about Travel blog. I think I prefer Blogger and am curious as to what others feel? Have never used Tumblr for example. I was interested in these bloggers who have made the switch from Blogger: So, WordPress and I switched from blogger to wordpress, and survived

Thank you

Update

I have been very busy this last week! Somehow I managed to publish three drafts yesterday instead of a completed post!

Am in the middle of a major report for a client due next week. I am very excited by it.

Finally, I have some amazing news about my other blog: Wild about travel.

Keep you posted.

    Welcome to The Cowling Report

I speak to about 10 000 people a year in Workshops and Seminars globally and write for our monthly People First E-News which goes to 6000 readers monthly. Got the Facebook but I have resisted having my own blog for ages. I am now entering the Blog World thanks to encouragement from three other bloggers:-

Jayne Cravens (author of the Coyote Communications Blog)

DJ Cronin (author of the Blog: A musing on Volunteer Management)

Sue Hine (author of:  Management4Volunteers Blog)

I also want to acknowledge the urging of  three of the world's leading experts in Volunteer Management to get writing

Betty Stallings of Building Better Skills. Yes, Betty, the book is coming!

Susan J Ellis,  Energize Inc, Everyone Ready and E-Volunteerism

    and Andy Fryar of OzVPM,

My hope is that this will be a  no holds barred full and frank discussion about working in the community sector for or with Volunteers, and/or Boards and/or Management. Please do communicate your feedback as we move ahead!
