Bemused?

I was recently asked to write and contribute an article for a journal on a "pro bono" basis with three days notice. I wrote what I thought was a decent article and got it to the publishers on the morning of the deadline. They were very happy with the article except I then got this email:

Regarding your article for the Quarterly. Thank you for going to the effort of submitting something to us for the deadline. Due to an overload in the office this week I regrettably missed your article when putting the quarterly together, my sincere apologies for this mistake and any inconvenience this might have caused you. 

We are now planning to run it as the lead article in the first quarterly edition next year in February. 




Makes me feel better when others mess up like I can sometimes.
