Today, I heard Paul Lynch, Chair of Volunteering Australia speaking about Volunteering Australia. In his address he stated that:
- the move of their office from Melbourne to Canberra was complete. A move that was long overdue.
- an acting CEO Maureen Cane has been appointed
- A Policy officer has been employed
- key services have been devolved to state organisation members such as the National Conference (Volunteering SA and NT are responsible for 2013 Conference) and the Australian Standards on Volunteering (also Vol SAandNT) and the Online Volunteer Role search (Volunteering WA). This is a very sensible move. Volunteering Australia should have been fostering and facilitating the state bodies to deliver services nationally.
Paul offerred to respond to any enquiries regarding the changes via the email contacts on the Volunteering Australia and Western Australia websites. Neither site has any contact information.
